JOSCELYN GODWIN was born in Kelmscott Manor in 1945, and educated at Cambridge and Cornell Universities. He is now Professor of Music at Colgate University in New York State. A composer and musicologist best known for his work on ancient music, paganism and the occult, his books include Harmonies of Heaven and Earth, Music and the Occult, Athanasius Kircher’s Theatre of the World, Arktos: the Polar Myth, Atlantis and the Cycles of Time, Symbols in the Wilderness, The Forbidden Book, and translations of the Hypnerotomachia Poliphili and The Chemical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz.
