COLIN CHURCHILL was born in Dorchester in 1927 and lived in the town throughout the entire period described by this book, providing invaluable first hand knowledge of Dorset’s county town during the Second World War. He entered Lloyds Bank in 1944, serving as a manager throughout the south-west before becoming an inspector covering London and the south – a total of 43 years, returning on retirement to his home town. He now lives only a stone’s throw from where he was born. As well as Dorchester Versus Hitler, Colin has written two books on military collar badges and various articles relating to military units connected with Dorset.
